GENERAL/SPORT

Physiotherapists at OPSMC have a special interest in the assessment and management of sporting and non-sporting musculoskeletal injuries, as well as post-operative rehabilitation. Many of the physiotherapists practicing at OPSMC have sports-specific or condition-specific specialities.

HOW WE CAN HELP YOU

Physiotherapists are trained in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal injury and are often the first port of call for the injured athlete. Physiotherapists are an important part of the rehabilitation team and can refer to other disciplines if required, and are often referred to via the General Practitioner or Sports Medicine Physician.

PHYSIOTHERAPY MANAGEMENT MAY INCLUDE:
  • Joint mobilisation and manipulation
  • Soft tissue massage and stretching
  • Dry needling
  • Taping and bracing
  • Exercise programs for rehabilitation and injury prevention
  • Postural assessment and corrective exercise including Clinical Pilates
  • Specific sports musculoskeletal screening for enhanced performance and injury prevention
  • Referral to other allied health and/or medical practitioners
  • Real Time Ultrasound assessment and retraining
  • Electrotherapy modalities

Our physiotherapists are specialised in creating the right rehabilitation program for you and this may include the development of a Clinical Pilates program (see our web page) home program, or gym program that can be performed in your local gym or in our purpose built rehabilitation gym in our Olympic Park Campus.

OPSMC offers physiotherapy services at its Olympic Park.
