Sally joined the Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre team in 2001 and is currently head of the Allied Health department. Sally completed her Master of Sports Medicine (by Research) at the University of Melbourne in 2010. Her research focused on Achilles tendinopathy in running athletes. Her main findings were published in the American Journal of Sports Medicine. As a result of her research Sally has a special interest in the treatment of Achilles tendinopathy in both elite and recreational athletes.

Sally’s practice interests also include lower limb biomechanics and footwear technology. She has a particular interest in Australian Rules Football, track and field athletics, recreational running and walking and the treatment of children. Sally has worked with a number of sporting teams and organisations and has been the Podiatrist for the Richmond Football Club since 2001. More recently she has started work with the Richmond AFLW team. Sally’s personal sporting background is track and field athletics for which she represented Victoria as a junior. She ran the New York Marthon in 2014 and now enjoys recreational running, hiking, pilates and running onto the field as trainer for her daughter's AFL team.

Since completing her Bachelor of Podiatry in 2011, Sia has worked for several years in private practice acrossrural Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne. Sia has clinical interests in sports medicine, and in 2020completed her Master of Sports Medicine through the University of Melbourne. She is highly skilled in allareas of Podiatry and over the years has gained extensive experience in elite and recreational sport, havingfacilitated treatment to athletes from a wide range of sporting codes and national organisations, including AFLFootball and the Australian Ballet.

Sia is passionate about footwear technology and the important role it can play in safe participation in sportand exercise. She provides footwear assessments and recommendations so that her patients’ footwear isbest suited to their specifi c sporting and biomechanical needs. In all areas of practice Sia takes a client-centred and evidence-based approach to treatment and is passionate about helping athletes of all ages andabilities overcome their injuries, return to sport, and achieve their goals. Sia has a strong recreational sporting background of her own, with interests in many sports including allfootball codes, basketball and long-distance running. In her early sporting career, she sustained several foot-related injuries which played a signifi cant role in her becoming the practitioner she is today. She acts on hersense of community through voluntary work at local sporting events and the FIFA Women’s World Cup in2023. She enjoys working with other health professionals in a multidisciplinary environment to achieve optimaltreatment outcomes for her patients. When she isn’t in the clinic, Sia is part of the education and fi eldoperations teams at Sport Integrity Australia and a research assistant at the University of Melbourne.

James Pope joined the Olympic Park Sports Medicine team in 2008. His main interest is working with athletes of all ages with injuries that limit exercise. This can often be a source of much frustration for people wanting to be active and stay fit, James strives to provide a means of doing this whilst also reducing pain.

James works with the Melbourne Football Club. He is interested in working closely with other health practitioners to rehabilitate, strengthen and help people to be exercising pain free as soon as possible.
