BIO

Dr Victoria Forsdick undertook an undergraduate physiotherapy degree before graduating from medicine in 2014. She previously worked in paediatric surgery but could not ignore her love for sport and exercise medicine, having been a young athlete herself (tennis). She started working for the Western Bulldogs AFLW team in 2019 and covered other events as able during the Covid-19 pandemic before moving to Canberra in 2021. She completed her first year of registrar training at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), working with a range of sports including basketball and para-swimming. The AIS was also where she started her researched in the female athlete post-pregnancy.

Victoria returned to Melbourne in 2022 and returned to working with the Western Bulldogs AFL and AFLW teams until 2024. She was a member of the Commonwealth Games Birmingham 2022 looking after the Hockeyroos (Silver Medallists) and Artistic Gymnasts. Victoria was also the Deputy Chief Medical Officer for the Youth Commonwealth Games 2023 held in Trinidad and Tobago. She continues to lead the AIS research into the experiences of high-performance athletes returning to sport post-pregnancy. Victoria is looking forward to helping all patients at OPSMC achieve their goals through management of acute and chronic injuries. She has a keen interest and passion for paediatric patients, female athletes, concussion and bone stress injuries.
