Alex Ashton is an APA Titled Sports Physiotherapist with a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy from La Trobe University and a Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Clinical Epidemiology in Sport from the University of Canberra. With extensive experience, including two years at the Australian Institute of Sport working with athletes from various sports, Alex has also worked in private practice across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK, including roles with Melbourne Rebels and Northland Rugby.
He currently facilitates injury prevention programs in community AFL and researches AFL soft tissue injuries with La Trobe University. With expertise in the treatment and prevention of shoulder, ankle, knee, hip and soft tissue injuries, Alex has a particular interest in rugby, AFL, soccer, tennis, and basketball and has significant experience in post-operative rehabilitation. He creates personalised treatment plans to help patients achieve pain-free performance,whether for everyday activities or competitive sports and has a background in rugby, soccer, tennis, cricket,triathlon, and rock climbing.
