Bio

Andy Stephens started his career at OPSMC in 1990 as a massage therapist. He also worked at the Royal Ballet Company in the UK from 1994 to 1997 and Essendon Football Club (1999 – 2003) before graduating with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from La Trobe University in 2002. He has since been appointed physiotherapist to the AFL umpires (2005-2007, and 2012- 2014) and to the Hawthorn Football Club (2008-2010).

Andy completed his Master of Sports Physiotherapy in 2012, and has a special interest in dance medicine, track and field and Australian Rules Football. His clinical approach combines exercise therapy and patient education with hands-on treatment to address existing problems and prevent the development of new injuries.

Melbourne Campus Fee Statement

A referral from a general or specialist medical practitioner is not required to see Mr Stephens. The cost of an initial consultation with Mr Stephens may be up to $119.00 and patients may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $53.80. The cost of a review consultation with Mr Stephens may be up to $113.00 and patients may be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate of $53.80. To receive a Medicare rebate, the patient must have a Chronic Disease Management Plan (previously known as an Enhanced Primary Care Plan) issued by a general or specialist medical practitioner. Private health insurance rebates may be available too, depending on the terms and conditions of the patient’s insurance. Initial and reviews consultations are generally booked as 30 minute appointments unless otherwise specified by Mr Stephens in discussion with the patient. Please note that in addition to the charges already mentioned, additional fees may apply, for example, for ultrasound or Shockwave Therapy.
