Clinical Sports Medicine: Translating Research into Practice

A symposium presented by Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre in honour of its 30th anniversary of providing world-class sport and exercise medicine services – for everyone – from the elite athlete to all members of the community.

Session 1 – the Past, Present and Future of Clinical Sports Medicine

This session brings together a panel moderated by Professor Khan to reflect on what has been learned in the relatively new area of Sport and Exercise Medicine over 30 years, to consider where we currently are with our knowledge and practice, and future directions for the specialty.

Session 2 – Translating Research into Clinical Practice

The philosophy of both Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre and Brukner & Kahn’s Clinical Sports Medicine textbook has been to base clinical practice on current scientific evidence, always learning, reviewing current best practice and educating. This session uses examples of common clinical scenarios and diagnoses to show how we can translate this research into providing us with practical and current solutions for our patients
